Historic Nancy Island in Wasaga Beach The Nancy was built as a private cargo vessel in 1789. During the war of 1812 she was called into service and played the important role as a British supply ship. The ship was referred to as "H.M.S. Nancy". The British chose the Nottawasaga River as their new supply route. The Americans sent forces into the area. Despite a courageous battle, the "Nancy" was set afire and sunk on this historic site.

Snow shoeing in Wasaga Beach Wasaga Beach is snow country and winter can be fun packed and exciting. Within town, you'll find 30km of groomed cross-country ski trails running through peaceful forests and rolling hills. There is plenty of room to snowshoe and glide through freshly fallen snow while keeping an eye out for deer and other wildlife. Wasaga Beach welcomes snowmobilers with 120km of groomed safe trails running through the area.
